I recently went to hear a very interesting conference entitled "Towards the boundaries of space and time" held by Professor Marco Bersanelli, professor of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of Milan. I was shocked to learn that the universe had an infinitesimal likelihood of ever existing, just as it did for the emergence of life on our planet. We owe our existence to a "miracle within a miracle" (words used by the speaker).
And what about the fact that astrophysics discovered that the primordial "plasma", from which everything started, emitted sound waves? There is an assonance with the famous OM primordial sound of the universe of Eastern spiritual traditions which, unlike all other mantras which have two phases, inhalation and exhalation, can only be said in exhalation, because it does not depend on anything and from no one.
These are just a few thoughts that occupied my mind and moved me during that extraordinary evening.
Years ago I experienced the starry sky in the middle of the desert. We were at the top of Mount Sinai; absolute lack of artificial lights, immense vastness, very bright stars throughout the sky up to the horizon. One feels enveloped in a mantle of lights that hypnotize and fascinate; you feel welcomed in this immensity that makes you feel infinitely small but important and unique.
Since ancient times, those who travel in the desert have done so mainly at night, both to avoid the great heat and because the stars give a precise orientation. Indeed the word Wish comes from the Latin Desidera that is, "lack of stars", that is, that situation in which the clouds, by removing the stellar reference points from view, generate nostalgia for things of vital importance, setting in motion the energies for their search.
Silence is suitable as the soundtrack of this newsletter, but also the music that I propose to you. Listen to a hint of this piece by Ezio Bosso, a great creator of sublime sounds, one who knew how to perceive heavenly music. The title is "Following a bird” and evokes the flight of migratory birds with their great sense of orientation even in the desert and in broad daylight.
Wonderful!
